While Gimp 2.8 did not crash, it certainly was lagging in responsiveness under the weight of the "Lastend" theme.īoth versions of Gimp regained responsiveness when I switched them back off of the "Lastend" theme and on to the "Dark" theme. My conclusion is that the "Lastend" theme has issues about memory usage it had the same effect on both Gimp 2.10 and 2.8. I used it on a couple of files and it worked flawlessly. I logged out and restarted under normal mode and Gimp successfully booted up in normal mode using the "Dark" theme. It was more responsive and was not giving me the "spinning wheel" treatment. I switched themes to "Dark" theme and Gimp "perked up" right away. I switched to safe mode on my iMac to see if I could get Gimp 2.10 to boot up in safe mode. I tested the theme with Gimp 2.8 on the hunch that the theme was causing problems for the Gimp software. Then, a day later, Gimp started crashing. I could hardly take any actions without getting the little spinning icon indicating that the software was not responding. While Lastend theme is beautiful, it is a memory hog and Gimp was lagging in performance. right away, I noticed that something was wrong. I recently switched themes in Gimp 2.10.4 to "Lastend" theme.
